Meet Our 2021 Executive Team
LIZZY BASSETT
Licensed Organizer
Lizzy is a sophomore at Hope College studying communication, leadership and political science. She is a part of Nykerk, Student Congress, a RA, and a student employee. Lizzy is the lead organizer and licensee of TEDxHopeCollege 2021. She started this because she noticed a need for shared curiosity, diversity of thought and a culture of listening. She wanted to create something that would initiate productive conversations and challenge the comfort zones of the Hope College community.
ADRIANA MIRABELLI
Event Manager
Adriana is a senior at Hope College majoring in english and biology. She is involved in the STEP leadership team, 2020 orientation, and is a chair on the Pre-Health Professions Club. Adriana is the event manager for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. She joined the executive team since she loves the TED message of inclusivity and amplifying voices. She is excited to bring these messages to Hope's campus.
ELISEO BUSTILLOS
Executive Producer*
Eliseo is a junior at Hope college majoring in business. He is a part of the appropriations committee, concert series, Latino Student Organization and intramural sports. Eliseo is the executive producer for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. He joined the executive team to be a part of the group that brings a flip unto Hope College's social norms. He believes change is necessary for character growth.
ABRIA FRANKLIN
Curator
Abria is a junior at Hope College majoring in communications and minoring in business. She is the Student Ambassador for Student Development and Alumni and the chair of Public relations for the BSU. Abria is the curator for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. She is excited to listen to those with diverse thought and creativity. She is advocating for people who are underrepresented to share their story.
ERIC SALISBURY
Tech Lead*
Eric is a sophomore at Hope College studying chemistry. He plays the bass on the worship team, does research in the chemistry department, runs on the track team, and is involved with Dance Marathon and Greek Life. Eric is the tech lead for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. He joined team to help expose new and different perspectives through data driven storytelling.
MARKETEA ABBOTT
Financial Manager
Marketea is a junior at Hope College who is pursuing her social work degree. She is the student director for both 1st Generation Student Union and Student Ambassadors. Marketea is the financial manager for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. TEDxHopeCollege is important to her because she wants to help bring new perspectives and evoke design thinking within members of the Hope community
KYLIE GALLOWAY
Marketing Lead
Kylie is a junior at Hope College studying communication, Spanish and history. She is also the NEA Big Read Lakeshore and Little Read Lakeshore Marketing Manager, Studies Activities Committee Social Media Lead and a leader for Campus Ministries. Kylie is the marketing lead for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. She is looking forward to bringing global ideas to Hope in order to inspire thought, curiosity and change.
THERESE JOFFRE
Website Manager*
Therese is a freshman at Hope College pursuing a major in chemistry and a minor in biology. She is a part of the cross country and track team, along with a youth group leader at a local church, research in the chemistry labs and a volunteer at Holland Hospital. Therese is the website manager for TEDxHopeCollege 2021. She joined the team to help start and cultivate the "hard" conversations within campus.
